Stop 1 · The roof
A storm drops a limb from the side-yard oak straight through the roof. The program lists building coverage for the structure, roof to foundation.
Stop 2 · The front walk
A heaved, cracked slab on the front walk is how many trip-and-fall claims start. The package includes general liability, with limits of $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate.
Stop 3 · The upstairs unit
With a limb through the ceiling, the second-floor unit can't be lived in until it's repaired, and its rent stops. The program lists business income coverage for damage that “causes tenants to move out.”
Stop 4 · The basement
When the sump pump can't keep up, water surges out of the pit and floods the basement laundry. The program lists water backup and sump overflow.
Stop 5 · The backyard
A rake left tines-up and a hose stretched across the patio can send a guest to the doctor. The program's general liability lists medical expenses, which can pay a guest's medical bills after a covered injury without anyone having to prove fault.
Stop 6 · Every building you own
Own more than one rental? One excess liability policy can sit over all of your Honeycomb properties, with limits from $1M to $5M. Excess liability is written on a surplus lines basis.
