Turnover inspection in Paterson
Chapter 175, “Certificates of Re-Rental Approval and Compliance,” Article I, adopted 12-18-1979, makes a landlord get a certificate “immediately prior to allowing a new tenant to take possession of a housing space” (§ 175-3A), inspected while the unit is vacant, no more than 30 days before possession (§ 175-3B). Fees at § 175-7, amended 2-22-2011: $50 for the first housing space, $25 to reinspect. Vacant days earn nothing, which is what loss of rents covers.
